Cardio Ex: IVUS Levels

Tools: Unity / Primary role: Game Designer

I was the initial game designer on the IVUS levels, which were sponsored challenges added to Cardio Ex post-launch in 2021. I was with the project from presales through the end of pre-production. My involvement with the game ended with the delivery and approval of the storyboards to the client.

My Responsibilities

Led discovery alongside biomedical specialist colleagues

·         Worked with the client to identify key learning objectives to be featured in gameplay.

·         Interviewed vascular surgeon SMEs to determine common pitfalls, environmental risks and best practices in order to craft scenarios that were realistic and engaging.

Created storyboards

·         Used the puzzle-box nature of Cardio Ex to craft 5 compelling scenarios that featured different pathology and locations in the vasculature. Solutions to levels showcased the brand new Philips Peripheral Vasculature product line in ways sparked players’ curiosity to learn more about the tools and their features.

·         Worked with the client to make sure game content worked alongside existing marketing materials and messaging.
